6 Things Every Christian Should Do Before Sleeping (Take Note of No. 2 & 5)

The end of each day is an opportunity to draw near to God. Before you rest, take time to commit your heart, your thoughts, and your tomorrow into His loving hands. 1. Thank God for the Day Whether the day was joyful or challenging, thank God for His faithfulness and sustaining grace. «“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18» 2. Examine Your Heart Allow God to reveal any wrong attitudes, sinful actions, or neglected responsibilities. Take Note of No. 2: A clean heart sleeps in peace because it has nothing to hide from God. «“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.” — Psalm 139:23» 3. Confess Your Sins Don't allow unconfessed sin to carry over into another day. Receive God's forgiveness with a sincere heart. «“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins...” — 1 John 1:9» 4. Pray for Others Lift up your family, friends, church, leaders, and those who need God's mercy and strength. «“Pray one for another...” — James 5:16» 5. Commit Tomorrow to the Lord Trust God with the future instead of worrying about what you cannot control. Take Note of No. 5: Tomorrow is safest in the hands of the God who already knows it. «“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” — Psalm 37:5» 6. Rest in God's Peace Go to sleep with confidence, knowing that the Lord watches over you through the night. «“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” — Psalm 4:8» --- Final Truth Ending your day with God brings peace to your heart and prepares you for a new day of walking with Him. Let every night remind you that the God who cared for you today will also be faithful tomorrow. Prayer Father, thank You for Your faithfulness throughout this day. Search my heart, forgive my sins, and fill me with Your peace. I commit tomorrow into Your hands and trust You to guide, protect, and strengthen me. May I rest tonight with complete confidence in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
